This webinar will provide advice to ensure that you have the right structures and training in place to support Mental Health and Wellbeing and will include:

  • The importance of training and support
  • The vital role of managers and leaders
  • Mental health and wellbeing training

  • Including wellbeing in performance reviews

Webinar 5: Managing mental health at work

17 May 2022 10:00-11:45
1x hour session + 45 Min Toolkit Clinic

Making sure everyone can talk about mental health is an important step your business can take to help people manage it. Much progress has been made in reducing the stigma of mental health, but we still need to do more. Despite many employees feeling their employer or line manager would be supportive if they shared a mental health issue, a significantly smaller number of people do disclose concerns. This webinar will explore the best ways to adopt a progressive approach to mental health and will include:

  • Taking a proactive approach
  • Creating the right environment to discuss mental health and common problems
  • Improving open communication and reducing stigma
  • Identifying areas of risk
  • Adopting the HSE management standards

Webinar 6: Providing the right support

26 May 2022 10:00-11:45
1x hour session + 45 Min Toolkit Clinic

The areas covered in the previous webinars in this series will help to promote the positive mental health of your employees. But even the most supportive workplaces can’t prevent some people from experiencing mental health issues. Just as some people experience physical ill health, some will experience mental ill-health. This webinar will discuss steps that you take to make sure you are engaged and ready to provide support when it is needed and will include:

  • Spotting signs of distress and having sensitive conversations
  • Signposting individuals to the right support
  • Making reasonable adjustments
  • Creating a supportive environment
  • Providing confidential support

Webinar 7: Helping people recover

31 May 2022 10:00-11:45
1x hour session + 45 Min Toolkit Clinic

Sometimes employees who experience mental health problems will need to take time off work to get better. Employers should provide the support people need while they’re off sick and, on their return, to work. Adopting supportive policies will help you to reduce sick leave, retain valued employees and meet your legal obligations. This webinar will highlight the importance of taking a fair and consistent approach and will include:

  • Managing absence from work
  • Tips for managers when an employee is on sick leave
  • Preparing for an employee’s return to work
  • Return to work plan and access to work
  • Helping employees to stay well
